Stonewall Sports is an LGBTQ+ & Ally community-based, non-profit sports organization founded in 2019 that strives to raise funds for local non-profit organizations. Our league values each player for who they are and what they bring to the league's community.

This is an all-gender, all-experience-level league. The league will utilize the rules and regulations of the Stonewall Kickball Association.

Dates/Time: All games will be played on Sundays at either Noon or 1 PM.

Facility: We play at Peterson Park (18294 Greenfield Rd, Detroit)

Divisions: The league is split into two divisions. When registering, select your preferred division (Experienced for some experience, Novice for beginners). This mostly applies to captains registering a team and free agents. Note: I will do my best to place captains & free agents as requested, but some teams may be moved to a different division before the start, and some may be moved after a few games have been played. 

Registration Cost: $40 per player, this cost includes your official registered player shirt. Also in an effort to make Stonewall available to everyone, we utilize a fee waiver program that you can learn more about here. Refunds are not offered for any Stonewall Sports Detroit activities.

Registration Information: Registration for this league will begin March 22, 2024 and run through April 1, 2024.

• Teams: A team is formed when 14 players register. A team can have up to 18 players. Any team that does not have the required 14 registered players when registration closes will A) have free agents assigned to them or B) revert to free agents and will be assigned to formed teams. We will do our best to keep groups together. If we have an odd number of teams, we may make changes to teams to accommodate everyone after prior notice to captains. It may be necessary to add free agents to teams with more than 14 players.

• Captains: If you plan on being the captain of a team, you will need to register first and then have players register under your team name. All captains will be required to attend a 4/14 event at Menjo's where we'll cover rules and code of conduct, as well as when you'll pick up your team tshirts. 

• Players:
  • I plan to create a team: If you plan to create a team you will need to register as the team captain (see above). Then you can tell your friends to register as a team player to join your squad. To become one of the new teams, you must begin to register 16 players.
    
  • I plan to join a team: If you already know which team you are going to play on, you will need to register as a team player. Captains can email the kickball leadership team to move a player from their team, but only after the captain has communicated with the player first and explained the removal.
    
  • I want to play but don't have a team: That's fantastic! This league is about making new friends and building community. Register as a free agent and we will place you on a team. 
    
  • I have a few friends but not a team: If you have a few friends but not a full team you can register as a Small Group. We will do our best to make sure that you are all on the same team with one another. If for some reason the group has to be broken up we will notify all of the players.
