Through recreational sports, Stonewall Detroit, strives to increase communal bonding within the Detroit LGBTQ and allied communities. Stonewall Sports Detroit is committed to providing an inclusive recreational sports league that values every member regardless of sexual orientation, gender, sex, religion, race, age, disability, or any other dimension of diversity. We strive to provide an environment where all can flourish and have an equitable opportunity to participate in our organization to the capacity in which they chose.

This is an all gender, all experience level league. The league will utilize the rules and regulations of the Billiard Congress of America (BCA).

Dates/Time: Tuesdays at 7:00pm | March 12 - April 30 (8-weeks, but may go 1 extra week in case of venue cancellation) 

Facility: Fifth Avenue (215 W 5th St, Royal Oak)

Parking: Multiple lots exist around the venue. 514 S Lafayette Ave, Royal Oak is the nearest parking deck. Royal Oak parking decks offer free parking for the first two hours an $0.75 per hour after.

Cost: $35 per player. To make Stonewall accessible to everyone, a limited number of applicants may be eligible for a 50% or 100% discount on the entry fee. Click here for more details.

Registration: February 27 - March 10, 2024 (or until sold out)

Teams: A team can have up to 5 players. If we have an odd number of teams or an inequity in members per team, we may make changes to teams to accommodate everyone after prior notice to captains.

Captains: If you plan on being the captain of a team, you will need to register first and then have players register under your team name. Players who register before the captain can still be moved to the team by emailing detroit.billiards@stonewallsports.org

Player Registration Options:

• I plan to create a team: If you plan to create a team you will need to register as the team captain (see above). Then you can tell your friends to register as a team player to join your squad. To become one of the new teams, you must register 4 (four) players.
• I plan to join a team: If you already know which team you are going to play on, you will need to register as a team player. Keep in mind that you cannot randomly join any team. Captains may ask that a player be removed from their team prior to the close of registration. Captains can email detroit.billiards@stonewallsports.org to move a player from their team, but only after the captain has communicated with the player first and explained the removal.
• I want to play but don't have a team: That's fantastic! This league is about making new friends and building community. Register as a free agent and we will place you on a team of new friends!
  
• I have a few friends but not a team: If you have a few friends but not a full team you can register as a Small Group. We will do our best to make sure that you are all on the same team with one another. If for some reason the group has to be broken up we will notify all of the players.

We'll be handing out Stonewall pins to display your name and preferred pronouns - please pick them up on the first night of the League and wear them throughout the season.

• May 7 - (make-up week in case the venue cannot accommodate us on a previous week)
  

Forfeiture policy: A team may safely have 2-5 players show up any week without any penalty. If a team has 1 or fewer players show up this will result in an automatic forfeiture and 6 wins for the opposing team.

Substitute policy: As of this time, Stonewall is not allowing substitutes in any sport who are not registered in the same league. However, a player from one team may substitute for another team if the Captains give permission.
